Nishat’s Challenges

Data Unification and Fragmentation

Customer data was often scattered across multiple data sources (CRM, web analytics, mobile apps, POS systems, email tools, etc.), populated with partial, inconsistent, or outdated records. This meant:

  • No single customer view
  • Duplicate or conflicting records across platforms
  • Difficulty stitching together online and offline behaviour
  • Time-consuming manual exports/ imports

Data Quality and Real-Time Availability

Even when data existed, it was often not in a usable state, caused by:

  • Delayed data syncing (hours or days behind)
  • Missing or incomplete attributes
  • Poor event tracking consistency
  • Lack of real-time triggers

Reporting and Attribution Issues

Understanding performance across campaigns and channels was extremely difficult, caused by:

  • Disconnected analytics across tools
  • Limited visibility into cross-channel attribution
  • Difficulty measuring ROI accurately
  • Manual reporting processes

Customer Segmentation Limitations

Segmentation was either too basic or too complex to execute efficiently, highlighted through:

  • Static lists instead of dynamic segments
  • Limited behavioural targeting (e.g. couldn’t target users who browsed but didn’t purchase easily)
  • Heavy reliance on data teams for queries
  • Inability to combine multiple attributes (demographics + behaviour + preferences)

Campaign Management Complexity

Running marketing campaigns across multiple tools created operational friction, including:

  • Managing separate platforms for email, SMS, push, etc.
  • No centralized campaign planning or reporting
  • Manual co-ordination between teams
  • Difficulty testing and optimizing campaigns (A/B testing limitations)
Customer Segmentation Limitations

“ Implementing efficient, behavior-based targeting used to be a major roadblock due to a number of data constraints.

D·engage helped transform our operational agility. Leveraging its advanced data segmentation and AI-driven customer journeys, we can now instantly activate at-risk audiences and deliver true 1:1 personalized experiences.

This has helped boost our customer engagement rates significantly. ”

Nishat Marketing Aspirations

Nishat Marketing Aspirations

Operational Inefficiency Are Manual Workflows
Nishat’s existing setup required too many manual steps when pulling data, creating lists, launching campaigns and compiling reports. This slowed down execution and increased dependency on technical teams.

The objective: to empower marketing to move faster with minimal engineering support and reduce time-to-launch for campaigns.

Lack of Integration Across Systems
Nishat were working with disconnected tools for CRM, analytics, email, mobile engagement and more. These systems didn’t communicate effectively, leading to data silos and inconsistent customer experiences.

The objective: to have a single, integrated platform that could unify data and orchestrate actions seamlessly across channels.

Limited Personalization Capabilities
The ability to deliver relevant, individualized experiences was restricted. Messaging was often generic as Nishat couldn’t easily combine behavioral, transactional and demographic data in real time.

The objective: to move toward true 1:1 personalization, driven by dynamic segmentation and live customer behavior.

Fragmented Multi-Channel Execution
Managing campaigns across email, SMS, push notifications and other channels was disjointed. Each channel operated in isolation, making it difficult to maintain consistency and coordinate messaging.

The objective: a unified approach to multi-channel engagement with centralized control and visibility.

Poor Analytics and Limited Insight into Performance
Reporting was either too basic or too fragmented across tools.

Nishat struggled to get a clear picture of campaign effectiveness, customer journeys and ROI.

The objective: robust, unified analytics with actionable insights, enabling better decision-making and continuous optimization.

Scalability Constraints
As the customer base and campaign volume grew, the existing tools couldn’t keep up efficiently. Performance issues, increased complexity and operational bottlenecks became more frequent.

The objective: a solution that could scale effortlessly while maintaining performance and usability.

Lack of Advanced Automation and Journey Orchestration
Our automation capabilities were limited to mostly simple, linear workflows.

The objective: to design sophisticated, multi-step customer journeys with conditional logic, behavioural triggers and cross-channel orchestration to better guide users through the lifecycle.

“ Before partnering with D·engage, our customer data was scattered across multiple systems, CRMs, and e-commerce platforms, leaving us without a centralized view.

Their Composable CDP has successfully unified online and offline customer behaviours into true 360 degree customer profiles. This deep data clarity enabled us to run highly targeted, personalized omni-channel campaigns. ”

The D•engage Solution
Data Integration and Infrastructure Setup

A major focus was integrating the D•engage Composable CDP with Nishat’s existing systems to enable a unified data flow:

  • Connected core data sources such as CRM, mobile app and twebsite via APIs and SDKs
  • Implemented event tracking (user actions like sign-ups, purchases, browsing behavior)
  • Set up data pipelines to stream customer data into D·engage in near real-time
  • Mapped customer identifiers to create unified user profiles

Several parts of the integration, especially around legacy systems, required additional customization; most were completed during onboarding, with a few edge-case integrations refined later.

Data Validation and Segmentation Setup

Once data started flowing, we focused on ensuring accuracy and usability:

  • Validated incoming data for consistency, completeness and correctness
  • Cleaned and deduplicated customer records where needed
  • Defined key audience segments (e.g., active users, churn-risk users, high-value customers)
  • Created dynamic segmentation rules based on behavioral and transactional data

This step ensured that campaigns would be built on reliable, actionable data.

Campaign and Journey Migration / Creation

Campaign and Journey Migration / Creation

The teams then transitioned from setup to execution by building and optimizing campaigns.

  • Recreated existing campaigns (email, push, SMS) within D•engage
  • Designed new automated customer journeys using D·engage’s workflow builder
  • Implemented trigger-based campaigns (e.g., cart abandonment, welcome series, reactivation flows)
  • Set up A/B testing frameworks to optimize messaging and timing

Whilst not every campaign was a direct 1:1 migration, Nishat improved campaign logic using D·engage’s more advanced capabilities.

Team Training and Enablement

To ensure adoption, Nishat invested in hands-on training for internal teams.

  • Conducted workshops and live demos with D•engage’s customer success team
  • Trained marketing users on segmentation, campaign creation and reporting
  • Provided technical training for developers on event tracking and integrations
  • Shared internal documentation and best practices

While most of the team ramped up quickly, some advanced features (like complex journey orchestration) were adopted gradually over time.

Testing and Optimization Phase

Testing and Optimization Phase

Before full rollout, Nishat ran controlled tests to ensure everything worked as expected.

  • Tested campaign delivery across channels (email, push, SMS)
  • Verified trigger accuracy and timing
  • Monitored data flow and real-time event processing
  • Collected initial performance metrics and made adjustments

This phase helped the teams identify and fix minor issues early.

Full Deployment and Continuous Improvement

After successful testing, Nishat moved to full-scale usage.

  • Shifted all major campaigns and journeys to D•engage
  • Continuously monitored performance and engagement metrics
  • Iterated on segmentation, messaging and automation flows
  • Expanded use cases over time (e.g., deeper personalization, lifecycle marketing)

D·engage x Nishat

D·engage x Nishat

D·engage’s Composable CDP and data unification functionality enabled Nishat to gain a 360 degree view of all of their customers.

By using the RFM analysis and data segmentation, Nishat was able to target the inactive and at risk audience and manage to activate them again. Implementing AI-driven customer journeys has directly resulted in high engagement rate; which has led to a significant increase in cart value and engagment rate, benefited by an improved conversion rate.

Looking towards the future, Nishat and D•engage are looking to deploy advance analytics, Zeki SQL segments and enabling AI content studio. Here’s to our fantastic partnership.
